What's New at the Vineyard

Stock Your Cellar Tasting April 18, 2013

Join us on Thursday April 18 from 6 to 8:30 for a chance to taste and purchase white wines for your summer drinking. This is a free event. Come to the Vineyard anytime between 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM, and you will have the opportunity to taste up to 20 different white wines. You can (but don’t have to) buy these wines at wholesale prices. You pay for them that night and pick them up the next Friday, April 26th. There will even be hors d’oeuvres to nibble on while you taste. Again, there is no charge for this tasting, but space is limited to 40 guests, so make your reservation now at 559-674-0923.

Mother’s Day May 12, 2013

We will be open from 12 to 7. Here is a link to the menu we’ll be serving. Give your mom a treat and bring her here for lunch or dinner. We’re always happy to see you.

You can make your reservations by phone at 559-674-0923, or online at or by email

Highway Closures Update

The exit from northbound Highway 99 to Highway 145 exit #153 B is closed, as is the entrance to Highway 99 from Highway 145/Olive Ave.  If you are coming to the restaurant from the south, the easiest way is to continue to the next exit #154 (Fourth Street), then make a left turn at the end of the off ramp. Go west across the highway overpass, then turn left at the first traffic light you come to. That is I Street. Head south on I Street for 8 blocks, which is about .6 of a mile to the restaurant.
To get back on 99 South the best way is to follow the Detour signs south on Highway 145 1 mile to Almond Ave where you turn left and head east to the freeway entrance.

Caltrans expects  to finish this project by May 1; they have to finish by May 18. I have learned, from the project manager, that this is a very involved project. Construction is complicated by soil conditions.

Quady Winery Winemakers’ Dinner on Thursday May 9, 2013, starting at 6:00PM

Quady Winery

Andy Quady and Mike Blaylock make some wild and unique wines, and we are doing a dinner to showcase these special wines. Pairing foods with them is quite a challenge, but Chef Jason came up with a delicate seafood sausage that goes beautifully with the vermouth. We were inspired to do this dinner because we were given the task of pairing a food with Quady’s Whisper Dry Vermouth for the Madera Vintners Association awards dinner. Chef Jason came up with a delicate seafood sausage dish that goes beautifully with the vermouth. Here are the wines we’ll be pouring: Let’s see what other ideas our kitchen can create.

  • Quady Whisper Dry Vermouth
  • Quady Sherry
  • Quady Deviation, a blend of Essensia and herbs with traditional aphrodisiac properties
  • Red Electra Granita
  • Quady Purple with grapes from John Simpson

We’ll have exciting food and wine pairing, and the opportunity to listen to Mike Blaylock talk about them. Just to hear Mike speak is worth the price of admission, which is $50 a person. To make reservations, please call 559 674 0923 or reply to this email.deliicious card
