MERRY CHRISTMAS

Have a merry and blessed Christmas.

We will be open on Christmas Eve from 11:30 until 8 and closed on Christmas Day.

BAGNA CAUDA

This is my favorite Christmas food, a northern Italian dish that my family has served every Christmas Eve for 50 years. Bagna Cauda means “hot bath”. It is a dip for vegetables and bread. We’ll be serving it in the bar on Christmas Eve. If you want to try it at home, it’s pretty easy to make at home. Melt ½ pound of butter and one cup of olive oil over low heat. Add 5-7 cloves of minced garlic and 2 small cans of anchovies. Stir. The anchovies will disintegrate and the Bagna Cauda is done. Hold in a chafing dish with a burner to keep warm. Traditionally you scoop the Bagna Cauda up with the raw vegetable and use a slice of bread to prevent drips. I like to spoon it right on to the bread and eat it like that.

This is Joel’s latest creation, Cognac with Frangelico and Bailey’s. Try a White Yak Milk or a Chocolate Yak Milk with coffee. It’s a great after dinner drink.

100th BIRTHDAY PARTY

WINE MAKERS DINNER

On January 14th, join us and Pietra Santa winery of Hollister, for an evening of good wine, food and company. Pietra Santa is owned by the Blackburn Family from Firebaugh. They make dynamite, food friendly, Italian style wines. Happy New YearI hope you’ll join us @ 6:30 on Thursday January 14th for this wine tasting. Cost is $45 a person for the wines and our dinner pairings.
