Joy and Giving Tree

Joy and Giving Tree

As has been the tradition for the last 32 years, the Giving Tree is here in the Lobby of The Vineyard Restaurant.  The tree is decorated with tags that suggest a gift for a child. You take the tag and then bring back the gift, wrapped or unwrapped with the tag securely attached.  Last year you brought in over 350 gifts. Please have the gifts here by 10:00PM on Friday the 17th.  The giving tree is just another of Malcom Gatz’s projects, this one being her Christmas Baskets, providing food, clothing and toys for those in need.. She also helped to decorate the restaurant this year.  We’re thankful for the generosity of people like Malcolm and all of you.

Another of our December traditions is Cioppino — the Italian fisherman’s stew. Our version has ½ of a Dungeness crab, shrimp, mussels, clams and fish in a red wine and tomato broth. We serve it with garlic bread to sop up all the juice. It is delicious.

Studies show that 78% of American adults like to receive restaurant Gift Certificates and Gift Cards for Christmas. Why take a chance? Give Gift Certificates from The Vineyard. We sell them in any amount. If you are out of town, call us, 559-674-0923. We will take the information over the phone and send the certificates to you or the person to whom you’re giving the gift certificate.New Year's Eve

The National Restaurant Association reports that US restaurant sales are up 2.6% over 2009 and October sales are up 4.5% over 2009. They also report that the restaurant industry created over 100,000 new jobs so far this year. Does this mean the economy is turning around? Maybe; the restaurant industry is considered to be a leading indicator of economic activity.

December 13th is our 33 anniversary. Thank you for your business, support and friendship.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us

Chris Mariscotti
