Make great Valentine Day presents. We sell them in any amount.

We have two events planned for this Spring.
On April 17th we will have another tasting/purchase evening. It is a duplicate of the “Stock Your Cellar Event” we did in November.  This time we’ll be pouring California and Italian white wines for your  summer drinking.  As before there is no charge for this event. You can taste the 20 or so wines and purchase if you like.  You can buy full or partial cases and you get a substantial discount from retail pricing.  Hors d’ oeuvres will be provided. There is no program; you may come here any time between 5:30 to 8 to taste the wines. You do not have to buy any wines if you chose not to. Again there is no charge, but we ask you make a reservation so we can prepare enough food.

On Thursday May the 9th we will have a wine dinner with Quady Winery.  We have done many events with Quady before, but I don’t think we’ve ever done a full dinner. Part of the reason was that Quady has made mainly sweet wines and those are harder to pair with savory entrée items. We’ve changed our thinking on that.  Last month we catered the Madera Vintners Association wine dinner and were asked to pair a savory course with Quady’s Vya Dry Vermouth.  That was a challenge, but Chef Jason came up with a seafood sausage and white bean salad that was a great companion.

Inspired by this we want to do an entire dinner pairing Quady’s unusual wines with unusual foods. Jason has some great ideas that should be exciting. The dinner will cost $45 a person and will be Thursday, April 11, starting at 6. Wines are included in the price; tax and tip are not.

We are open for lunch Monday through Saturday from 11:30. The restaurant is a great place for your bridal or baby shower on a Saturday afternoon. Here is a cake we made for a recent baby shower.

The North and Southbound exits from Highway 99 to Highway 145 are now open, but only temporarily. The work is progressing slowly and the third lane is not finished. Caltrans plans to finish the third lane and remove the barricades in the spring. This project is taking so long because the right lane is being built to stand up to truck loads and is much more complicated. The entire project will bring this part of Highway 99 to Federal Interstate standards if 99 ever becomes an Interstate. I know the closed off-ramp caused a lot of aggravation and it isn’t over yet. Thank you for your patience.

Before we opened The Vineyard we had The Berenda Ranch Restaurant north of Madera. It was originally a grocery store that my grandparents opened in the 1920’s. It evolved into a 24 hour restaurant and gas station that was open until the late 1970’s when highway expansion closed it. Many people have asked if there are any pictures of Berenda. I finally found some. Here is a picture of the interior and the exterior from the 1960’s.

Visit us on Facebook and see pictures of specials and other bits of fun.

Thanks again for your business.

The Vineyard Restaurant is located on the northwest corner of Highway 99 and Highway 145 on the south end of Madera. Our address is 605 South I St. Madera, CA 93637 - Tel: 559-674-0923 (google earth: Lat: 36°57'14.57"N & Lon: 120° 3'28.48"W).
