Mothers' Day

Wine Trail/CSUF Tasting

a celebration of wineMake plans to visit our local wineries on the next Madera Wine Trial May 12th and 13th.  The Madera Vintners Association had the first awards dinner here on April 19. Here is a link to a blog by Jenny Toste about the dinner.

The premier wine event in the central valley, the CSUF Tasting will be on June 3rd at the Borba Ranch on the banks of the San Joaquin Tickets are available thru CSUF here. The night before there will be a dinner honoring Professor Vincent E Petrucci, who taught viticulture for over 40 years at CSUF, and was Director Emeritus of the Viticulture and Enology Research Center. The Vineyard is honored to be one of the lead restaurants preparing the dinner.

Mother’s Day

Make reservations now for Mother’s Day May 13th. We will be open from 11 to 7. You can see this year's menu on our web site. You can also make reservations on the web site or call us 559 674 0923. That is also a Wine Trail day so you can take Mom to one of the wineries first.

Madera High Robotics

Congratulations to the Madera High Robotics Team. They came in second in the recent Central Valley Regional Robotics Competition held here at Madera South. They competed with 47 other high schools from California, Hawaii, and Mexico. MUHS also won the Engineering Inspiration Award and a trip to the finals in St Louis.

robotSeveral of the teams ate here at the restaurant and they were a treat to have here. At their suggestion we went and watched the competition; it’s crazy fun. The robots were shooting basket balls and rolling around blocking each other. The kids were yelling and doing cheers like they are at a basketball game. If Madera hosts the competition again, I suggest you go.

New Menu Items

We have a new lunch menu and some new items on our dinner menu. You can view them here. One of the new items on the dinner menu is the Farmer’s Quail Salad. Chef Ben called it that because it has local products: pistachios, walnuts, pomegranate vinaigrette and sheep’s cheese. The cheese is made in Madera by Mario Daccarett. He has a long heritage of cheese making in his native Honduras and in France where his family was from. The cheese is delicious, as is the salad.

We are also making fresh fruit gelatos and sorbets with whatever fresh fruit we have. Right now they are making a Meyer lemon sorbet with lemons from our trees in the back yard.


We are open Monday thru Saturday for lunch and dinner. We open at 11:30 and stay open all afternoon. We close the dining room at 10, sometimes 9:30 on Monday and Tuesday. The bar stays open as long as there are guests. We are closed on Sundays except for Mother’s Day, a few other holidays, and for private parties. We will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday May 28, 2012.
