Several of our local wineries are starting their Friday and Saturday night concerts. Why not stop by The Vineyard for dinner before you go. Just tell us your schedule and we’ll have you out of here in time to enjoy the show. That’s a good thing to remember at any restaurant if you have a schedule. Most servers can expedite and manage your meal so you enjoy yourself and get you out in time.

We are serving water upon request only. We are also not watering our lawns. The cooks are trying to reduce their usage of water without comprising food safety. Because of this The Vineyard used 725 gallons a day less this past month. That is not a huge number and will not end the drought. Still that is not insignificant. More than most other businesses, restaurants are very visible. I believe this is the reason the State has mandated the water on request rule. Not because they believe it will impact the water supply. But to guests react and think about water conservation.

Saturday night May 30th our next Supper Club Dinner. Chef Ian will be preparing a nose-to-tail pig dinner. Start with an Old-Fashioned with Bullit Bourbon and pork rinds to nibble on. The first course  is a selection of house made charcuterie. Second will be plancha pig ears and smoky pork trotter.  The main course will be a pork sampler and we’ll have warm pork fat doughnuts for dessert. Price is $50 a person. That includes cocktail first, dinner and tax. Make your reservation now by calling 559 674 0923 or emailing or going to our website and clicking reservations.

Chef Ian been making some exciting new dishes on both the lunch and dinner menus. Items like Cider Braised Pork Shoulder, Strawberry Prawn Pasta and Korean Carnitas exemplify our philosophy of using local products to create interesting and delicious meals. Of course we always have our favorites such as Lasange, Lamb Shank and Harris Ranch USDA Choice Steaks. That too is part of our guiding principles of food. Some adventuresome choices and some time-tested favorites. We hope you enjoy having those choices.

On Sunday April 26, 2015 a group of us hiked the Four Mile Trail from Yosemite Valley Floor to Glacier Point. The day before a storm passed through and dropped 3-4 inches of snow above 6000 feet. The result was one of the most spectacular hikes we’ve ever made. Yosemite Falls was roaring, probably for the last time till November. Half Dome and the back country peaks were capped with snow. We had a lot of fun hiking in the snow on the way up and down. And who says The Vineyard doesn’t do delivery. Here’s lunch at Glacier Point:
