What’s New at the Vineyard

From the bar

We have some great new items on our menu. The first new appetizer is a slice of Brie wrapped with filo dough and topped with dried apples, almonds and local honey that comes from our family property in Berenda. The second is mussels steamed with wine and garlic. Our new entrée-sized salad is a seared salmon salad with balsamic vinaigrette and fried leeks over mixed greens. We changed the pork tenderloin; it’s now wrapped with bacon and topped with a dried fig and balsamic reduction. We have also added polenta with a red pepper sauce. This dish is vegetarian and gluten-free. Of course, our fall and winter menu includes Pumpkin Ravioli with pine nuts and cream sauce. Come in and enjoy.

Why a dinner based on persimmons? Why not?  Persimmons are a new and exciting crop here in Madera County. The Fuyu, a squat yellow-orange persimmon, eats just like an apple, and the dinner will be spotlighting this one. The menu will include persimmon appetizer, salad with persimmon and greens. Pork loin with persimmons and persimmon risotto which will be followed by persimmon dessert.  The dinner will be accompanied by a selection of  wines from our friends at Cru winery.

Dinner cost $60 a person that includes tax, tip and your wines. Call now for reservations  674 0923. It is Tuesday November 16th and starts at 6:30pm.

My brother-in-law Jon Basila grows olives and is we are selling his oil. The Vineyard is the exclusive outlet for this delicious, fruity olive oil. The 375ml bottle costs only $13.50

Wine TrailEvery Thursday in November we will be serving a special sushi roll appetizer in the bar from 4:30 till 8.  Join our soon-to-be dad Joel for a cocktail, and try one of Benjamin’s special rolls. Benjamin learned the techniques of making sushi while working in the executive dinner room of Toyota in Southern California.

Nov 13th and 14th is wine trail weekend. We’re normally closed for lunch on Saturday, but on this Saturday the 13th we will be open for lunch and dinner. We will not charge a corkage fee on any wine you bring from the Wine Trail. We’re usually very busy on this weekend, so we suggest that you make reservations.Vineyard Restaurant Gift Card

We still have some space available for Christmas parties, so call Michele today to make your reservations.

The Vineyard Restaurant gift certificates are a great way to treat family and friends. We sell them in any amount, and we can send a gift certificate to you or your gift recipient. Call us with your credit card number and addresses, and we’ll take care of the rest..

We will be closed Thanksgiving Day. On Friday Nov 26th we will be closed for lunch and will open @ 5 for dinner.

As we have done every year for the past 31 years, The Vineyard’s Christmas Tree will be a giving tree.  Malcolm Gates of Madera Christmas Baskets will hang tags on the tree with a child’s wish for a gift. Some are specific; some are just a request for a gift with the child’s age stated. You take a tag and bring it back with the gift. We ask that you securely attach the tag to the gift. Please have the gifts here by the evening of Friday, December 17th. Malcolm tells me that last year you gave over 250 gifts. Thank you.

The Vineyard Restaurant is open from 11:30am to 10pm Monday thru Friday. On Saturdays we open at 5pm (except Nov 13th when we’ll open at 11:30am), and we are closed on Sundays. We do open for private parties on Saturdays and Sundays. Call or visit our website for more information.

Our menu includes steaks, fresh fish, pastas, burgers and entrée salads. We serve the same menu all day long, so if you are really hungry at lunch you can order a Filet Mignon or a Ribeye steak.  If you are not too hungry or you are in a hurry for dinner, you can order a Cheese and Bacon Burger, or a Clubhouse Sandwich, as well as all of our great steaks and pastas.

We serve a daily lunch and dinner special as well as a daily fresh fish. Our soup is made here everyday. We serve a varied selection of soups and there is no schedule except for Clam Chowder, which we have served every Friday for 32 years and 11 months, but who’s counting?

We make every effort to serve local foods and wines. Some of our local suppliers include Victor Packing Co. Elk Ridge Almonds, The Specialty Crop Co., Valorosi Farms, T&D Willey Farms, Basila Olive Oil, Stiebs Pomegranate Products and Mary’s Chickens. We serve wines from all the wineries of the Madera Vintners Association.facebook
